Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Moshi

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, Keys Tours representative will meet you, pick you up and transfer to Keys Hotel.

If you arrive early, after a short rest and fresh up you will get brief information about the tour.

Day 2: Bike Tour around Moshi

This day is for your acclimatization.

After adjusting the bikes your guide will ride with you along the lower slopes of the volcano and around town.

Day 3: Bike Tour – Moshi to Lake Challa / 52 Km

The route is on uneven paths, mainly over farmland of the Chagga people.

A long climb leads to Marangu, one of the gateway points to Kilimanjaro. Banana and coffee plantations can be seen along with little villages.

Towards the end, a12.9 kilometres downhill takes us back into savannah country to a beautiful lodge at Lake Chala, offering birding and game viewing on foot.70 kilometresascent.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Chala Safari Lodge on full board basis.

Day 4: Bike Tour – Lake Challa to Rongai / 66 Km

Heading further north anti-clockwise around the volcano. In the higher regions you will see water/soil-saving farming practices of the locals. You will ride close to the Kenyan border climbing gently to a higher altitude.

The last 9.6 kilometres are on tar and quite steep.In the afternoon you arrive at a cozy chalet. This is one of the starting points leading to the mountain. If you want to get a taste of what it’s like, you can go for a walk.

Day 5: Bike Tour – Rongai to Olpopongi / 100 Km

Cross the northern ridge of Kilimanjaro to the highest point of the tour at 6300 ft. Our tires will reach their limit because of the large acacia thorns.

During the last kilometers you might spot some wild game.

Day 6: Bike Tour – Olpopongi to Mkuru / 45 Km

In the morning, you will ride between Mt. Kili. In addition, Mt. Meru. During the hilly and dusty ride, you might spot elephants, zebra, antelope, and buffalo.

Dinner and overnight at Mkuru Eco Tented Camp.

Day 7: Bike tour Mkuru to Moshi / 90 Km

Through acacia and shrub landscape you will head back to Moshi. A steep climb brings us back into Chagga territory.

Banana and coffee plantations change with little settlements before we descend for lovely Keys Hotel. In the evening, you can celebrate the ride with some cold Kilimanjaro beer.

Day 8: Moshi – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at Keys Hotel, depart for Tarangire National Park for Game drive. The driving is along beautiful masai steppe & many villages.

Later afternoon during the sunset drive to Kudu Lodge for dinner & overnight with a brief stop at Lake Manyara view point for some nice picture of Lake Manyara & its forest from the edge of Great East African Rift Valley.

Day 9: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast drive up to Ngorongoro highlands, spend few minutes for registration at the gate before driving up to the Crater view point where you can make a brief stop to get the most breathtaking views of the Crater floor from above, you may take some pictures before descending 600 meters high walls into the Crater floor for a full day game drive.

In the evening before sunset, drive to Rhino Lodge Ngorongoro.

Day 10: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park – Moshi

Day 10: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park – Moshi

On this day after breakfast we will take you to Lake Manyara National Park the ever green park nestling at the base of the Great East African Rift Valley with overlapping habitats which supports a large number of animal species include the famous Lake Manyara tree climbing lions, giraffe, elephant, zebra, buffalo, leopard, hyena and many more.
Afterward drive back to Moshi, if you wish you may visit Mto wa Mbu market or any Masai market on the way before reaching Moshi in late evening.
