After breakfast, drive to Marangu village. Stay with Chagga family, have opportunity to witness and Chagga culture with a visit to a traditional Chagga house. Participate with members of the family in zero grazing livestock feeding, coffee picking, processing and finally tasting a coffee from which you have prepared and cooking yourself local food.

Enjoy lunch at family house prepared by you with Chagga woman. Enjoy machalari and mtori, “the famous chagga food. Visit the famous Ndoro a waterfall which is a panoramic viewpoint’s ideal for photographing waterfalls and Mount Kilimanjaro.

The waterfalls are situated in the Kilimanjaro National Park, to the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Located in the beautiful countryside of Marangu surrounded by lush landscapes, you will find this hidden waterfall. At the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ndoro Waterfall is one of the most popular and largest waterfalls in the area.

A one hour hike, descending through the stunning green landscapes of Chagga (the largest tribe in Tanzania) land will bring you to this huge waterfall, here you will have the opportunity to stand underneath the waterfall, even jump off one and go swimming in the refreshing water and have a well-deserved break in the beautiful valley.

After breakfast take your lunch pack from the hotel and drive to Maasai Village (Olpopongi).

Stay with Maasai family, have opportunity to witness and experience Maasai culture with a visit to their traditional houses. Get to know your host by a brief introduction from both sides in Swahili language by the Maasai women and men. You will be introduced to Village Leaders who will provide you with any information you need to know about the Maasai life.
See how Maasai, among the last of the World’s Patrol people are coming to terms with 21st Century in their own time.

Please do not hesitate visit, discuss with the women on issues related to their normal and daily life including women circumcision. Participate in making beads and have a chance of dancing and singing with the Maasai Women…. A view into culture and daily life of Maasai people should not be missed while you are in Tanzania.
Do not forget your camera, as Maasai will not mind taking pictures with you on their pictures.

Depart from Keys hotel Moshi and drive to Chemka Hot Spring at Rundugai village for about an hour.

The road is very bumpy and windy, so hang on! During the drive, don’t forget to enjoy the wonderful scenery and authentic Tanzanian life as it unfolds along the road. You may see Pare’s and Chaga’s farms where you will meet different irrigation fields such as rice field, Onion field and many other vegetable crops such as Okra, Egg plants and tomatoes mostly grown for local consumption by the community and Maasai with their cattles.

The Hot Springs has many names, which can be quite confusing. It’s often called the Chemka hotsprings, Rundugai hotsprings, Kikuletwa hotsprings and Maji Moto. They are still one and the same.

This beautiful mineral spring originates from Kilimanjaro ground waters. The Chemka Hot Springs are about 4o kilometers away from Moshi, in the harmonious village called Chemka. They are underground springs with warm water. The water forms a clear and clean pond, which is ideal for swimming.
When we arrive, you are free to be you.

Linger at the edge of the springs, taking in the blue, blue waters and the lush green of the surrounding forest. Take a leisurely swim (do not forget that the waters are very warm, so you will not feel like an Olympic sprint) or float in a world that is all your own, listening to the water lapping and the birds overhead. If you are feeling adventurous, why not play on the rope swing?

Playing is not just for kids! The pond can be very deep, in some places up to 10 meters, but the water is so clear that you can see right to the bottom.

Eat your lunch in the shade of the trees or, if you are a sun bunny, find a hot spot all your own.

You have plenty of time to spot the wildlife that also enjoys the Chemka Hot Springs.

This full day tour will take you through the beautiful countryside surrounding Mount Kilimanjaro filled with banana and coffee farms.

Here you will be able to learn more about farming practices, and the local life of the Chagga people and the chiefdom system. You will also be able to explore historical sites and learn more about the rich history of Old Moshi as your guide tells you stories dating back to before German colonization.

Some historical sites you will visit are: the tree where Mangi (Chief) Meli was hanged by the Germans in 1900, the palace of the chief, German military base from the 1890’s and cemetery and old slave market ruins, Kitimbitihu, the site where the Christian missionaries from Germany first preached the word of God and baptized the first peoples on the slope of Mount Kilimanjaro in around 1885.

After visiting the historical sites you can sit down and enjoy local banana beer.

In the afternoon you will enjoy a delicious local lunch made by mamas in the village, followed by Kidia Lutheran Church, an original stone church built by German missionaries, as well as Kidia dispensary where you will learn about Doctor Bruno Gutman.

You will finish a tour with scenic hike to Mambori waterfalls. Along the way to the waterfall, your guide will tell you the story of how Mambori waterfalls received its name and explain the medicinal uses for a variety of naturally growing plants along.

After breakfast depend on you flight time, drive to Kilimanjaro airport to connect flight to Zanzibar. You will be met on arrival at Zanzibar Airport and transfer to stone town.

After check in to the hotel, you will meet a guide for short briefing for half day Stone Town Tour.
Stone Town is the canter and capital city of Zanzibar’s culture; You will discover the bountifully decorated buildings and intricately carved doors and visit the famous slave market where nowadays the Anglican Church stands. The slave market is also called “the House of Wonders”.

Visit iconic land marks including but not limited to – the Palace Museum (People’s Palace), Dr Livingston’s house and the Arab Fort. You will also explore the market, mosques and Forodhan gardens. After all the activities in stone town you will walk back to Tembo House Hotel for overnight
