Overview
Maasai Mara, which is contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, is Kenya’s largest game reserve found in Narok region, It is named in honor of the Maasai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area. The land is covered by short trees which gives it a view of scattered sport hence name “mara” in Maasai language. It is world’s renowned area for its exceptional populations of lion, African leopards, cheetahs and African bush elephants. Maasai Mara also hosts the Great Migration, which is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, and as well one of the ten wonders of the World.
