Established in the year 1989, Keys is a family run hotel, lodge and tour company situated on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro operating from Moshi in Kilimanjaro region. At the gateway to the roof of Africa it is an ideal place from which to explore Tanzania.

Keys Hotels Travel and Tours, is a family run company. It has been leading climbs up to Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru since 1989. Being a long time established company we have managed to come up with the packages which are all done under one roof (transport, accommodation and climbs) all are arranged by Keys Hotels. There have been some challenges that we have gone through all these years to come up with the best solutions to make safe, comfortable and enjoyable trips up to the mountain. Moreover, we are a full registered company with valid licenses to carry this business in Tanzania whereby we also follow all the government rules and regulations.

Professionalism
Our teams of guides have long time experience with first aid medical knowledge on the mountain which guarantees your safety (Some of our guides are certified Wilderness First Responders (WFR). We carry oxygen tanks on each climb for emergency. We check the clients every morning and evening by using pulse oximeter during the climb. If clients' oxygen saturation is below an acceptable level, we have emergency bottled oxygen. We also carry personal stretcher for emergency as National park ones are located in some of the points and not all the points.
Ideal Menu
Great menu on the mountain is prepared specifically for climber i.e. food that will provide energy and with the right portion. Our clients do comment as to how surprised they were able to get such good energy food on the mountain. As per your hygiene, hand washing water is treated with dettol- available before all meals.
Full Information
We provide full information before the climb which assists you in preparing for your climb. Also briefing is done every evening while trekking.
Proper equipment
We provide ideal equipment for the climb which in good condition i.e. sleeping tents, comfortable mattresses, tables & chairs for your comfort.
Porter’s right
We do care for our porter’s rights. Making sure they are fully equipped on the mountain, we feed them properly and they do carry the right amount of kg i.e. 20kg only. Our guides and porters get paid the wages that is recommended by the government. Every year we obtain a public insurance which covers for accidents/being sick on the mountain. We are also members of Tanzania Porters Association (TPA)
