2 Days Manyara and Ngorongoro Safari
Located about a four-hour drive (240 km) southeast of Nairobi, Amboseli National Park is well known for its herds of big tusked elephants. A scenic park in its own right, Amboseli is synonymous with two particular things – majestic herds of elephant and glorious views of Mount Kilimanjaro in neighbouring Tanzania. Kenya’s second most popular national park after the Masai Mara National Reserve, Amboseli was declared a UNESCO-Mab Biosphere Reserve in 1991. During heavy rains, the basin at the centre of the park floods, attracting hordes of wildlife. The reserve is an excellent place to view the Big Five, as well as lesser known and rarer wildlife species.
Tour Details
At 06:00 am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and driven on a tarmac road to Lake Manyara National Park with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive.
The park is dominated by the beautiful Lake Manyara, and its lush forest begins just after the park gate, stretching along the base of the Great Rift Valley. To the west, you will also find hot springs. Lake Manyara is home to the famous tree-climbing lions, as well as buffalo, giraffe, hippo, and large troops of baboons. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted with flamingos, ostriches, and many more species.
After enjoying your picnic lunch inside the park, continue with afternoon game drives before leaving for Kudu Lodge, Karatu, where you will have dinner and overnight.
Kudu Lodge and Campsite, located in the heart of northern Tanzania’s safari circuit, offers warm hospitality, comfortable accommodation, and peaceful surroundings. Nestled in eleven acres of rolling countryside with mature trees and gardens alive with bird life, it provides a tranquil hideaway and the perfect base for your safari adventure. The lodge embodies spaciousness, friendliness, and true African hospitality.

After breakfast, drive up to the Ngorongoro Highlands. Stop briefly at the Crater Viewpoint for breathtaking views before descending the 600-meter-high walls into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch. Often referred to as the Eden of Africa, the Ngorongoro Crater offers spectacular scenery and one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in the world.
The crater floor is home to around 30,000 animals, including wildebeests, zebras, hippos, elephants, gazelles, elands, warthogs, and the rare black rhino. Predators thrive here as well, with large populations of lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard.
You will also visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern part of the crater, which attracts flamingos, hippos, and a wide variety of aquatic birds. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha or Moshi, arriving in the evening.
