Trekking/Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, and Mt. Kenya FAQs

Mount Kilimanjaro can be climbed throughout the year, with successful summits possible even during the rainy season. Daytime temperatures can range from a bone-chilling five degrees to a merciless 30°C, while night temperatures often drop well below freezing. The heaviest rains occur between March–May and November–December, so the best time to climb is during the dry seasons — January, February, June to October, with February and September offering the most stable weather.
Mount Meru and Mount Kenya also share similar seasonal patterns. The best months for these climbs are January to March and June to October, when conditions are generally dry and visibility is excellent.
1-Mount Kilimanjaro: Challenging due to its high altitude and long ascent.
2- Mount Meru: Moderate, ideal for acclimatization before tackling Kilimanjaro.
3- Mount Kenya: Varies by route — Lenana Peak is moderate and achievable by trekkers, while Batian and Nelion Peaks are technical climbs requiring mountaineering skills.
Accommodation, meals, park fees, professional guides, porters, and ground transportation are typically included in all climbs.
Yes, all three mountains require trekking permits. These are usually arranged and included in your package price.
