
Mount Kenya Climbing
Mount Kenya is Kenya’s highest mountain and Africa’s second-highest, standing at 5,199 meters (17,057 feet). The dormant volcano is located in the center of Kenya and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is renowned for its various ecosystems, sharp peaks, and stunning glaciers. Trekkers, climbers, and nature enthusiasts flock to see it, with spectacular scenery and a diverse range of vegetation and fauna. Its three well-known peaks, Batian, Nelion, and Point Lenana, differ in levels of difficulty. Batian and Nelion need technical climbing skill, while Point Lenana can be reached by trekkers.
The main routes to the peak are the Sirimon Route, Naro Moru Route, Chogoria Route, Burguret Route, and Timau Route.
